The Gospel Sustains Me

In a brand new book ‘The Gospel Sustains Me: The Word of God in the Life and Love of Saint Therese of Lisieux’ brothers from Saint Therese’s Carmelite Community reflect upon the central place of the Bible in her life and spirituality.

As the Superiors General of the Carmelite Family point out, Therese’s message echoes Christ’s plan of life, inviting us to pass from the image of God-as-Judge to that of God as Father-Mother; from the quest for perfection to the quest for communion with God; from laws that enslave us to the law of real and effective love which liberates us.

‘The Gospel Sustains Me’, which is published by Saint Albert’s Press (the publishing house of the British Province of Carmelites) and edited by Johan Bergstrom-Allen and Wilfrid McGreal, will be officially launched in York Minster on Wednesday 8th July following Evensong at 5.15pm.
