Vital Supplies Reach Sick Children

Two consignments left our diocese for Baghdad Central Training Hospital for Children over the summer and both consignments reached the hospital thanks to the support from the British Embassy and the Iraqi Ministry of Health in the City.

The last consignment to the value of £8,000 was possible thanks to the speedy release of funds generated by the Gala Dinner held at the Riverside in July and organised by Father Paul Farrer and friends. Thanks Father Paul for reaching out for the cheque book!!

Thanks for all your great support for this project in the past. All funds raised are spent on paediatric oncology drugs and other medical supplies that are not available in Iraq. We absorb all operating costs so every penny donated is spent on vital supplies and we have wonderful support from a number of key organisations in Baghdad who ensure supplies are received at the hospital.

Dr Jaffar Al- Ghaban and the medical team have expressed their deep appreciation for all the help we are providing. If you would like to help sick and very vulnerable children in Baghdad, then please send your donation (which may be gift aided), to Father Damian Humphries, Monastery of Our Lady of Mount Grace, 18 North End, Osmotherley, Northallerton, North Yorkshire, DL6 3BB

(Please make cheques payable to Osmotherley Parish).
