With just a week to go until Pope Benedict arrives in the UK, a new section on the official Papal Visit website has been launched where you can watch the very latest broadcast footage as Pope Benedict travels our lands. Whether it’s the Pope’s historic state meeting with Her Majesty the Queen in Edinburgh or the Beatification of Cardinal Newman in Birmingham, you will be able to watch it live and uninterrupted by clicking to “The Visit Live“.
The video stream will broadcast 24/7 for the full four days. What about when the Holy Father’s getting some well-earned rest? During these times we will stream a daily review package, footage from earlier in the day (or earlier in the visit) or, before 19 September, we will be looking ahead to the next day’s broadcast schedule.
The Most Rev Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster and President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales said he hoped the streaming would help more people share in the Visit:
