Working together in East Cleveland

Within the Deanery of St Bede, the Diocesan Pastoral Plan has been taken seriously and members have responded by forming a Deanery Support Group.

The first meeting was held on 8th June 2006. The group has two aims, which are:

  1. to discuss the Pastoral Plan, and
  2. to organise events which will aid the bringing together of the nine parishes within the Deanery’s Parish Groups (i and j).

So far, the group has organised the following events:

  • Quiz Night, with Pie and Peas
  • Children’s Christmas Party, with visiting Santa
  • Children’s Disco with Easter Bonnet Parade
  • Race Night
  • Ceilidh

Each event was well attended.

Next event:

  1. 15th December – Children’s Christmas Party

Other items discussed at the monthly meetings include:

  1. Bringing Children’s Liturgy group leaders together from all parishes
  2. Schools and Parishes working closer together
  3. Youth
  4. Register of Talents
  5. Organising transport for those not able to get to church under their own steam

For further details about the group, or any of the events, contact Mary Robinson (Secretary) on (01642) 478363 after 6.00 pm.
