York-based children’s author and liturgical and eucharistic minister Sue Ellis has produced an interactive book to help families, schools and churches inspire children to share in the celebration of the Mass.
The book is designed to help children aged from five to ten to understand what is happening around them but also enthuses about the love of God and the positive impact faith can have on each one of us.
It includes activities and a chart for children to track their progress to become a “Mass Expert,” plus a glossary of terms and a photocopiable page for drawing and writing.
Former teacher Sue is an active member of her parish and the York hospital chaplaincy team. This is her fourth book for young children all of which are aimed at helping young people to become the best person they can be.
Catholic writer and catechist Denise Cottrell-Boyce said: “This is an excellent book. I would love to see it being given to every family when their child starts their First Communion catechesis, not least because it will give parents a big boost of confidence coming into their child’s spiritual formation.”
Each 16-page book costs £8.50, with reductions for ten books at £6 each or 20 books at £5 each. Postage and packing will be charged and a proportion of profits will be donated to Youth SVP and Mini-Vinnies.
