The theme for Pope Benedict XVI's 2010 visit to the UK is Cor ad cor loquitur - Heart speaks unto heart. Cardinal John Henry Newman chose the words as the motto to go on his coat of arms. Heart speaks unto heart is a fitting choice for this papal visit as, on the final day of his Apostolic Journey, the Holy Father will beatify Cardinal Newman - the much-loved Victorian theologian. A range of merchandising from IVSGroup (the official merchandisers for the Papal Visit 2010) has been specifically tailored to reflect this theme.
The merchandise store can be accessed through the www.thepapalvisit.org.uk or directly using www.papalvisitstore.com.

Farewell Holy Name of Jesus Church, Hull
After more than 75 years of service as a parish church in North Hull, Bishop Terry Drainey was the chief concelebrant at the final Mass before its closure on 2nd November 2008 – the transferred feast of All Saints.
The church was packed for the Mass where the concelebrants included Frs John Wood and Paul Farrer, baptised and ordained in the Church, Canon Jerry Twomey who had served as a curate in the parish, Canon Michael Loughlin, Episcopal Vicar for the Southern Vicariate, as well as a number of Diocesan and Marist Fathers.
The parish choir led the music of the Mass with one of the young parishioners as the cantor of the psalm.
In his homily, Bishop Drainey said we must give thanks for all the good which has come from the parish over the past 75 years but we must look forward to the future with the parish as part of a larger area with Our Lady and St Anthony’s as the parish church.
Despite the inclement weather, everybody joined the Bishop for refreshments in the parish social club.
It is hoped that the Endike Community which provides social services for the elderly in North Hull will use the church for their work.
