Catholics are being invited to take part in an online afternoon of prayer and reflection exploring one of the most fundamental truths of the Christian life: that each person is beloved by God.
Organised by the School for Synodality, the Zoom event, on Saturday June 27, will encourage participants to reflect on the gift of baptism and what it means to live as sons and daughters of God.
The theme draws on St Luke’s account of the Baptism of the Lord, where the voice of the Father declares: “You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased.”
Organisers say the afternoon will offer an opportunity to rediscover that same identity at the heart of every baptised person.
The session will be led by Catholic speaker and author David Wells, who will combine inspirational input with personal reflection and opportunities for prayerful sharing in small groups.
David is an internationally respected Catholic communicator known for his engaging and accessible approach to faith formation. Through speaking engagements, retreats and workshops, he has helped people explore how the Gospel can be lived in everyday life.
The event is open to anyone who wishes to deepen their relationship with God, regardless of previous experience or theological knowledge.
It is hosted by the School for Synodality, which supports the Church's synodal journey through listening, discernment and shared reflection.
Working with dioceses, parishes, religious congregations and communities, the organisation provides resources and formation opportunities to help foster a more synodal Church.
Running from noon to 4pm, the retreat will take place online via Zoom.
