
Brian McGowran, for years a stalwart of the Middlesbrough Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes and a very well-known figure particularly in the northen part of the Middlesbrough Diocese, died suddenly on Saturday 3rd January.
Our sincere condolences and sympathies to his wife Cath and to his children Julie and Paul and to all Brian’s family.
May he rest in peace.

We all have fond memories of Brian. I remember the last time I spoke to him, just before Christmas. He was smiling, shaking my hand and wishing me well. As usual his hand shake was prolonged with his big right hand warm and strong. It said everything about his friendship.

The Requiem Mass for Brian McGowran will be at the Holy Name of Mary Church, The Avenue, Linthorpe, Middlesbrough on Thursday 15th January at 9.15am prior to service of commital at St Hilda’s Chapel, Teesside Crematorium.
Donations in lieu of flowers if so desired to the Lourdes Fund and Zoe’s Place.
