Eighth Annual Apostleship of the Sea Pilgrimage to Holy Island

The Apostleship of the Sea ‘Stella Maris’ Eighth Annual Day of Prayer and Pilgrimage to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne is to be led by the Rt Rev Declan Lang, Bishop of Clifton and Bishop’s Conference Chair of International Affairs on Saturday 25th June 2011

Come and pray for seafarers and meet Port Chaplains, Ship Visitors, Parish Contacts and other volunteers and supporters.

  • Arrive early afternoon; causeway opens at 12.30hrs (closes at 21.30)
  • Celtic Prayer on the beach 13.30hrs
  • Mass in the grounds of St Mary’s Anglican Church 16.30hrs
  • Display of AoS literature and information in St Aidan’s Catholic Church
  • Bring a packed lunch (or obtain refreshments on the island)
  • Parish groups and individuals of any age are welcome
  • Why not arrange a coach or share with another parish?
  • Recommend pilgrims bring a folding chair for the outdoor Mass
