CAFOD Unearth Justice Photo Exhibition

Come and visit this excellent exhibition, on the York section of its countrywide tour, highlighting the plight of people living in communities affected by gold mining in Honduras, Democratic Republic of Congo and the Philippines.

Bishop Drainey has kindly agreed to open the exhibition during a service at St Wilfrid’s Church at 10.15 am on 24th June. A tribal elder from a community in the Philippines will speak on the impact gold mining is having on his community. There is a combination of photographs, films and artefacts from the three countries.

The exhibition will be open throughout the two days and people are invited to come and browse at their leisure. We hope that every parish in the Diocese will send two representatives to the opening ceremony in York. Pupils from Catholic schools in York will also be participating in the opening ceremony. If you are in York during these two days then please do come and see us!

As always, a very big thank you to all of you who support the work of CAFOD so generously. Without your kindness we would not be able to make such a positive difference to people whose lives are too often blighted by poverty.
