Catholic Care serves the needs of those who are disadvantaged, vulnerable and marginalised, without discrimination, providing services across Yorkshire to people of all faiths or none. 
The charity has come a long way since it opened its first orphanage 160 years ago in 1863.
Today the 200 members of staff and more than 140 volunteers care for thousands of people every year. 
It offers services for babies and parents, children and young adults, schools, people with learning disabilities, refugees, people living with poor mental health, older people and those who are socially marginalised. 
Following a restructure, the board of trustees is now seeking to appoint a head of care, who will report directly to the director and play an active role in the strategic leadership team.
Responsibilities will include contributing to strategic direction, leading and developing teams and leading the delivery of care.
Throughout its history Catholic Care has continually changed in response to new challenges and new areas of need and it remains forward thinking today. 
The head of care will be required to play a full part, along with the charity’s trustees and director, in shaping and delivering future developments.
The position involves travel throughout Catholic Care’s locations in West Yorkshire and parts of North Yorkshire and also involves working remotely from home. It is based at its head office in Leeds with an expectation that the appointed person will work from there at least once a week whenever possible.
