Celebration for 40 years of St Charles’ School

On 10th September 2008, the present School will be 40 years old. A milestone in the history of the education of local Catholic and non-Catholic children.

After turbulent times in the past few years, threat of closure and massive increase in pupils with English as a second language, the School has gone from strength to strength.

OFSTED in 2007 said,

‘St Charles’ is a good school which is very well led and managed. The school’s success is due to its strong Christian ethos where the care, well-being, enjoyment and achievement of every pupil are central to its work.’

To celebrate our successes, our past history, and to look forward to the future, St Charles’ School are hoping to put on a celebration. Any past pupil, member of staff or Parish Priest of St Charles’ is invited to either telephone (01482) 326610 or write to the School to purchase a ticket (£5.00) for the buffet.

We are arranging a Mass to be led by Bishop Terence at 6.00 pm on Friday 12th September which will then be followed by a buffet in the School.

The Governors and staff of St Charles want to make this an evening to remember and the only way we can do this is with your help. Please write, telephone or email the School for a ticket and come along to celebrate.
