Hidden Voices

United Nations Day 24th October 2008

To mark the occasion of United Nations Day 2008 you are invited to attend the second ‘Open Forum’ event at the University of Teesside in conjunction with:

  • Justice First, and
  • North East Coalition for Asylum Rights (NECFAR)

Tea and biscuits at 2.30 pm in the Innovation Centre Foyer

Hidden Voices at 3.00 pm in the Innovation Centre Lecture Theatre

We have called the event ‘hidden voices’ to reflect the fact that we will focus on children and their experiences and treatment as asylum seekers in the North East of England, their voices are seldom heard, we want you to hear them.

The session will include: guest speakers

  • Pete Widlinski: North East Refugee Service NERS
  • Alan Brice: Medical Foundation

Some short DVDs and personal testimony

We aim to conclude the afternoon at 5.00 pm

Please let us know if you are able to attend.
