Bishop Elect Terence is very aware of the limitations placed on him for those able to join him for his Episcopal Ordination in his Cathedral of St Mary’s on Friday, 25 January 2008 (the Conversion of St Paul). Anxious as he is to meet the good people across the diocese entrusted to his care in the following week of his ordination, he will celebrate Holy Mass with his brother priests and religious, and as many as possible from the parishes, in the following locations:
- Monday, 28 January, 7 pm at St Charles Borromeo, Hull
- Tuesday, 29 January, 7 pm at St Aelred’s, York
- Wednesday, 30 January, 7 pm at St Peter’s, Scarborough
- Thursday, 31 January, 7 pm at St Mary’s Cathedral, Middlesbrough

The forward planning for the Episcopal Ordination will follow the pattern used at the opening of St Mary’s Cathedral. Each parish will receive two invitations for members of the parish and the fairest method would be to invite parishioners to submit their names and independently have two names randomly drawn. The diocesan schools will receive two invitations – one for the headteacher and the other for a pupil representative. Presidents of Catholic organisations will receive an invitation, as will civic and ecumenical representatives. Further information will be forwarded in the fullness of time.
