‘Faith in Community Politics – the UK Agenda?’

An evening with John Battle at the Cathedral

The Adult Formation Committee of St Joseph’s Parish, Stokesley, are delighted to have secured an evening with John Battle – newly retired Member of Parliament for Leeds West and committed Catholic. He has entitled the evening ‘Faith in Community Politics – the UK Agenda?’

In order to provide a larger venue, they are holding the event in the hall of St Mary’s Cathedral, Middlesbrough, on Wednesday 13th October at 7.00 pm. Refreshments will be available.

Those who heard John Battle speak during the Bishop’s Lenten project will appreciate how articulate, insightful and awe-inspiring he is – and will surely want to hear much more! I honestly believe he is one of the most captivating Christian speakers that I have heard.

For those who haven’t heard him, this is a great opportunity to gain new insight into aspects and application of Catholic Social Teaching – especially relating to social justice and community development. He has a wonderful ability to apply Scripture, Church Teaching and personal faith to the myriad of social issues he encountered as an MP.

All are warmly welcome. Come along and be challenged, informed and enlightened!
